THE WILLIAM RICKETTS SANCTUARY

The William Ricketts Sanctuary is in the Dandenong mountain range, on the outskirts of Melbourne.
If anyone has seen the Billy Connolly tour of Australia they will already be familiar with it. Each of the aborigne faces is different and said to represent someone he knew. William moved here with his mother in the early 1930's, leaving behind an abusive father. He is buried here under the Tree of Life. It's an incredible place to visit

The design of the building is meant to reflect the natural landscape of the quarry. “We drew our inspiration from the quarry setting itself, adopting the image of a green hill cascading down the natural rock face as a series of terraced landscaped hanging gardens.” said Martin Jochman. Needless to say, with such a cool looking site, you’d expect to get a design which will take advantages of it’s very extreme location, and you’d be correct. The hotel, will feature amongst other things: bungee jumping.

The Story of Bottled Water (2010)

http://storyofbottledwater.org

The Story of Bottled Water, released on March 22, 2010 (World Water Day) employs the Story of Stuff style to tell the story of manufactured demand—how you get Americans to buy more than half a billion bottles of water every week when it already flows from the tap. Over five minutes, the film explores the bottled water industrys attacks on tap water and its use of seductive, environmental-themed advertising to cover up the mountains of plastic waste it produces. The film concludes with a call to take back the tap, not only by making a personal commitment to avoid bottled water, but by supporting investments in clean, available tap water for all.

Our production partners on the bottled water film include five leading sustainability groups: Corporate Accountability International, Environmental Working Group, Food & Water Watch, Pacific Institute, and Polaris Institute.

From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.

The Story of Electronics - 25 million tons of e-waste and counting, poisoned workers and a public left holding the bill

The Story of Electronics, releasing Tuesday, NOVEMBER 9, employs the Story of Stuff style to explore the high-tech revolution's collateral damage—25 million tons of e-waste and counting, poisoned workers and a public left holding the bill. Host Annie Leonard takes viewers from the mines and factories where our gadgets begin to the horrific backyard recycling shops in China where many end up. The film concludes with a call for a green 'race to the top' where designers compete to make long-lasting, toxic-free products that are fully and easily recyclable.

Our production partner on the electronics film is the Electronics TakeBack Coalition, which promotes green design and responsible recycling in the electronics industry.

Amazing Indian Musicians, Song - Tatanka

Tatanka Lyrics

Seven seas seven skies
Lightning strikes and brave men die
Tatanka great, Tatanka small
When darkness comes they kill them all

Tatanka

You take what you want but you don't ask
You're future doesn't lie with things of the past
The search for freedom will never be found
As long as we stand upon this sacred ground

The curse of the curses upon the land
One day Tatanka will make a stand
Take back the soul of mother nature
Give back the spirit of a world endangered

Tatanka comes, stand and deliver

The souls of the brave lie on forever
The tale of tears is a tale of courage
Tatanka comes from across the river

Chorus repeat

The battles were fought and the damage was done
The wars not over its just begun
The debt that's owed will never be payed
The promised land will never be saved

The curse of curses fire on the land
Today Tatanka has made a stand
Their forefathers dreams, hopes, and vision
Through children's eyes has it been forgiven

Chorus repeat

Le Lakota tolowan yelo

Channi tatanka oyate ki
icic' upi nahan taku un
umnipi nahan unkotipi kte k'un
lepa unk' upelo
wasicu ki ahi nahan
wicakasota pi tka
tatanka tawowakan ki lena
hecenanhgluhapelo

This is a song for the Lakota

Long time ago the buffalo
nation gave themselves
so we can survive and
have shelter
The white man came
and wiped them out
but we still have the spirit
the power of the buffalo

Tatanka comes, stand and deliver
The souls of the brave live forever
The trail of the rears is a tale of courage
Tatanka comes, Tatanka comes

Thousands of Dead Birds falling from the sky over this past weekend. See these news reports!

The panic began when roughly 5,000 dead blackbirds dropped from the sky on New Years Day in Beebe, Ark, causing some residents to call 911.

"They are like bleeding out of the mouth and some of them are not dead. I think they have been poisoned," said one caller, in a 911 call released this week.

Despite the unusual timing of the events, officials say the explanation is probably nothing out of the ordinary.

As wildlife expert Tony Child told the Star, "It's just part of the circle of life."

The 10 Leading Theories For Dead Birds And Fish

Thu Jan 06 2011 00:11
Nicholas West and
Zen Gardner
Activist Post

As the mainstream media attempts to downplay the latest die-off event, which has now gone global, it is worthwhile to keep track of the story lines. Feel free to add your own to the comments section, and we will update accordingly.

Mainstream Explanations: Lightning, hail, mid-air collision, power lines, and New Year fireworks for the birds . . . but disease for the fish. This is even rolling eyes in the mainstream media. Birds are incredibly sensitive to their environment (think canary in the coal mine), and the thought that they were caught by surprise, or that they “fowled” up their flight pattern is patently ridiculous. And where are the roasted birds from this lightning strike? And what about fish dying in the same region? Just a “disease” coincidence. One mainstream headline has to be enshrined as the saddest attempt at sensationalism, while revealing an obvious natural conclusion Falling Birds Likely Died From Massive Trauma. Really?

Meteor showers: We are in a period of intense seasonal meteor showers, and several perennial YouTubers reported hearing sonic booms in the area that could have indicated a local shock wave. This would be one non-conspiratorial, natural cause that actually makes sense, but it is hard to connect to both birds and fish, unless it produced a disabling frequency. There were indeed other sound anomalies according to the report highlighted above.

New Madrid Fault Line: An excellent article by The American Dream collated data about the recent earthquake activity along this fault line that runs along the mid-eastern section of the U.S. Combined with gas fracking, the immense geological activity in the region, and the BP oil drilling disaster, which off-gassed the dispersant, Corexit, into the atmosphere, and we should be wondering about any mass deaths in the region. Nevertheless, this has turned into a global event, so the above could be a side effect of something larger, or a direct contributing factor.

Government testing: The long history of government testing has been exposed by many researchers. The strange component to this die-off is that only certain species have been affected, but within the entire region. And some reports have indicated that the organs of these birds were liquefied, which could indicate a possible virus. Could this implicate species-specific bio-weapons? It is on record that discussions have taken place about race-specific bio-weapons; perhaps this is a test of delivery capability?

GMO mutation: Mike Adams of Natural News sets forth an interesting theory: this latest event is local, but the die-offs are happening across species as bee populations and bats are also declining. Adams points out that Monsanto has a corporate office in Arkansas. Just wondering.

Geoengineering: Could spraying in the area have caused this type of fallout? Perhaps something new added to the mixture? Chemtrails have quickly moved from conspiracy theory to documented fact. So much so, that the powers-that-be have had to admit to the program, but a beneficial one in their view. Between cloud seeding and possible connections to HAARP, chemtrail fallout must be considered, especially as it is being conducted nearly worldwide. Rosalind Peterson has been at the forefront of connecting geoengineering to GMOs as a combined source for oxygen-depleting algae blooms that very well could affect a wide spectrum of natural systems. Furthermore, some believe that the delivery system for chemtrails can also disperse pathogens. If there is a flu or disease outbreak in the coming days or weeks among the human population in areas where the birds have fallen, the chemtrail connection could be made. If this happens, the contagion could be blamed on a new, deadly bird flu. A last possibility connected to chemtrails would be nanoparticles.

HAARP: Birds and fish can be susceptible to subtle frequency alteration. An interesting YouTube post from a long-time fisherman mentioned the “pearl” plate behind the eye of the affected type of drum fish in this event. He made a plea for anyone in the area to look for signs of damage to this plate. Both birds and fish navigate in highly coordinated ways that indicate that they move and communicate via frequencies. Could the HAARP array in Alaska have short-circuited their navigation systems? Or, perhaps this is the beginning of a cascading effect from decades of electromagnetic pollution emanating from EMF and ELF waves shot around the planet via a wide range of modern communications.

Scalar Weapons: These directed energy beam weapons can be deployed via satellite and create a wide range of “natural disasters” that can be tuned to certain frequencies. Their radius is reported to be several miles. Even crazier is that we have been told that the dead birds encountered massive trauma. One of the reported abilities of scalar weapons is to create a Tesla shield of plasma, like a bubble, that could explode anything that enters its airspace. Some have speculated that this technology is in full operation. But what if it truly is still at the testing phase? Remember, this is happening in South America, too.

Project Blue Beam: Were they testing a sound generator for the global theater of alien invasion? This one is “out there” for sure, but NASA itself has announced its preparation for such a scenario. Project Blue Beam, like its counterpart HAARP, uses the natural energy present in the ionosphere as both a visual and acoustical device. Again, perhaps they are not at the ready stage yet, but, like Tesla, have made an unintentional misstep.

Geomagnetic and other Earth changes: As anyone can see from the above range of possibilities, we are facing an array of human tampering. However, the backdrop to this are the anomalies beginning to take form with the apparent wandering of our magnetic pole, as even National Geographic reported that the north magnetic pole is racing toward Russia. Add to this a dwindling magnetosphere and falling oxygen levels, and the deaths among more delicate species might portend a larger problem. Finally, an increase in sun activity and magnetic storms might be weakening our overall natural habitat.

The widespread die-off of nature should lead us to look more intently at the world around us, and to question our relationship to it, and our effect upon it. Perhaps this is what we should have been doing all along.

Homeless Man w/golden Radio Voice In Columbus, OH Discovered! + Intervie...

The original video of this homeless man, panhandling on a street corner now has almost 10 million views!!!

Ancient Airplanes

These small gold objects were found in a tomb in Columbia and
catalogued as fish, moths and butterfly trinkets. When German
fighter pilot and engineer J.A, Ulrich saw the large, bottom "bee"
in 1972, he remarked that it looked exactly like an F-102 fighter,
with rudder and speed brakes, exactly like the Swedish SAAB
aircraft at the time. Many scientists refused to believe these were
models of aircraft.

This perfect scale-model wood glider is in the
Cairo Museum in Egypt and was found at a
dig in Saqqara. It was catalogued as a "bird".

At the 'Ancient Astronaut' Conference in 1997, Peter Belting actually built  scaled-up (but otherwise precise) models of the ostensibly "miniature aircraft" -- and then attached propellers and jet engines.  And they flew!!

Watch these two videos about these ancient aircraft.  The first is a short documentary from the history channel. (history.com).  The second, I think is even more interesting.

2000 Year Old Pots Were Found to be Electrical Batteries!

In 1938 Dr. Wilhelm Konig found several earthenware pots at a dig near
Baghdad, Iraq. The pots dated back 2000 years and were found to be
electrical batteries.

Each pot contained a tube of sheet copper made up of smaller cylinders
soldered to each other with a 60-40 lead-tin alloy. The bottoms of the cylinders
were capped with copper disks and sealed with asphalt or bitumen. Another
layer of asphalt held two suspended iron rods down into the pot and copper
tube and showed evidence of being corroded by acids. When a replica of the
pots was made with freash materials, it was found that the iron rod held at the
top generated between 1.5 and 2 volts of electricity. According to current
historical beliefs, electricity wasn't 'discovered' until AD 1800 in Europe, yet
here it is.

Some researchers have said we only know about 10% of Man's past history -
why don't we examine these anomalies with an open mind?

Truly Amazing: Convicted Forger at Sing Sing in the early 1800's

Convicted forger A. Schiller was serving his time in Sing
Sing prison in the late 1800s when guards found him dead in
his cell. On his body they found seven regular straight pins
whose heads measured the typical 47/1000ths of an inch or
1.17 millimeters in diameter. Under 500 magnification it was
found that the tiny etchings seen on the heads of the pins
were the words to The Lord's Prayer, which is 65 words and
254 letters long. Of the seven pins, six were silver and one
was gold - the gold pin's prayer was flawless and a true
masterpiece. Schiller had spent the last 25 years of his life
creating the pins, using a tool too small to be seen by the
naked eye. It is estimated that it took 1,863 sepatate carving
strokes to make it. Schiller went blind because of his

Why the future doesn't need us.
Our most powerful 21st-century technologies - robotics, genetic engineering, and nanotech - are threatening to make humans an endangered species.  By Bill Joy (Chief Scientist at Sun Microsystems)

From the moment I became involved in the creation of new technologies, their ethical dimensions have concerned me, but it was only in the autumn of 1998 that I became anxiously aware of how great are the dangers facing us in the 21st century. I can date the onset of my unease to the day I met Ray Kurzweil, the deservedly famous inventor of the first reading machine for the blind and many other amazing things.
Ray and I were both speakers at George Gilder's Telecosm conference, and I encountered him by chance in the bar of the hotel after both our sessions were over. I was sitting with John Searle, a Berkeley philosopher who studies consciousness. While we were talking, Ray approached and a conversation began, the subject of which haunts me to this day....

The Cathedral - Short Story Animation

The Cathedral from styczek on Vimeo.
Polish science fiction author Jacek Dukaj wrote a short story, Katedra, in 2000. A mysterious and enigmatic tale, it attracted the attention of Tomasz BagiÅ„ski, an artist and animator from the same country. He was intrigued by the prize winning piece of fiction and became determined to bring it to life as an animation.

He did an exemplary job.  It is as powerful as the original story.  In fact, this piece of work was nominated for the Academy Award for Animated Short Film in 2002.  Although it failed to win the Oscar, losing out to Sony Pictures' The Chubbchubbs it did go on to win the San Antonio Best Animated Short prize in the same year.

Lofoten - Arctic Circle Anomaly

The archipelago of Lofoten in Norway is north of the Arctic Circle.  Yet throughout the year it has temperatures which belie its position.

This is because of the largest positive temperature anomaly in the world relative to latitude.

It makes Lofoten an unexpected delight – its early settlers must have thought they had stumbled across an arctic paradise.

Prepare to have your breath taken away.

What they found there was a sea teaming with life and the largest deep water coral reef in the word.  There are literally millions of sea birds with many species represented, such as the sea eagle, the cormorant and the puffin.  Otter are common in the area and on the larger islands of the archipelago there are moose.

Supercell Cloud

The photograph is just one image from the portfolio of electrician Sean Heavey. The supercell cloud was photographed in July west of Glasgow, Montana, USA.

Mr Heavey, 34, an amateur photographer, created the jaw-dropping panoramic image by stitching together three photos from the 400 frames he took of the violent scene he witnessed in July.  It caused minor damage, and lasted several hours before moving on. Massive storm systems like this centre on mesocyclones -- rotating updrafts that deliver torrential rain and high winds.  The dangerous outbreak of weather raged for several hours and caused minor damage to local communities - while watchful Mr Heavey captured all its devastating beauty from a distance.  Taking photographs of storms for the past seven years, this year Mr Heavey and his masterpiece are up for a prestigious award from National Geographic.   Called the 'Mothership', because of the striking image's similarity to an alien space ship, the photograph was actually four years in the making.  'I have two storm chasing friends I met through my wife Toni and they've been badgering me to go out with them for that long,' explained Sean.  'I' normally rely on simply being in the right place at the right time for my photography, while I'm out working. But in July I finally decided to do it and thankfully this picture was the result. We don't usually get weather like this out in Montana, it felt like the perfect storm.  'The power was awe inspiring.'

1922 Cinderella Animation - Walt Disney Beginnings

Cinderella, 1922. Tha Laugh O Gram Studios. Don't think of international conglomerates with banks of computers making highly sophisticated and realistic animation - Instead, think of a couple of cartoonists, in this case, in Kansas City who get together and start to draw simple animations of fairy stories.
The drawings are simple and fluid and really a lot of fun. These cartoons needed almost a thousand laboriously drawn pictures for each minute of film. The cartoonists were Ub Iderks and Walt Disney. Iwerks went on to form his own studio and make hundreds of cartoons. I don't know what happened to Disney.
